Autistic Pride Day

Autistic Pride Day dedicated to the people on the Autistic spectrum is celebrated on June 18 of each year.

Similar to Autism Acceptance Month and initiated by the now inactive Aspies for Freedom, this initiative aims to promote acceptance and inclusion of those on the spectrum, and improve autistic people's self esteem. It is a day dedicated to neurodiversity, and celebrating rather than extinguishing individual differences.

Autistic Pride Day has been celebrated by autism organizations such as ASAN and the Autism Women's Network. While its existence has been mostly acknowledged by only autistic people, a few parents and loved ones also recognize the day.
