John F Best Junior (commonly known as John Best Junior born in 1953) is a full blown conspiracy theorist from Londonderry, New Hampshire. He has a low-functioning autistic son, and runs a group of blogs headed by Hating Autism[1] in which he denies autism's very existence, calling it mercury poisoning and arguing that the condition can be cured for this reason. He also believes in the conspiracy theories behind the Rothschild family, chemtrails and other similar thought lines.

Best was born in 1953 in Boston, Massachusetts. He joined the United States Air Force and obtained the rank of Captain[2] before leaving the service. Not much else is know about Best aside from the fact that he is married to Karen and has two children - the eldest of which is a low functioning Autistic named Sam.[3] and he presently resides in Londonderry, New Hampshire.[4] He opened his first blog, Hating Autism, on January 14, 2006,[5]

When challenged over his views, he revealed in December 2006 in detail the issues with Sam, including an admission of a battle with constipation for years and how it improved through chelation - strongly suggesting an undiagnosed heavy metal poisoning issue in the intestines - among other revelations.[6]

Vaccinations and autism

Best firmly believes that autism is the same thing as mercury poisoning.[7] He argues that mercury poisoning became a widespread problem with the invention and distribution of thimerosal (known in the United Kingdom and Australia as thiomersal). He supports this argument by pointing out that Leo Kanner,[8] supposedly[9] the first man to write about autism, discovered the condition in 1943 — 12 years after vaccines were first preserved with thimerosal (AKA Thiomersal).[10] Best also believes that dental amalgam fillings are responsible for any autistic condition where it can be proven that a thimerosal-preserved vaccine was not given.[11] Such is the strength of this belief he even rejects the alternative (and equally ludicrous) idea that the MMR vaccine causes autism,[12] to the point that he has attacked the film Vaxxed and those involved more than once.

Best claims that the accepted treatment for mercury poisoning is chelation, and he has used alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) to treat his son. He claims some immediate results[13][14] but this has not been medically verified. A possible alternative explanation is that the clearance of heavy metal poisoning in his son's intestines led to a subsequent reduction in sensory overload.[15] Sensory issues are common amongst those on the Autistic spectrum.[16]

Best considers Mark Geier to be a hero, despite the fact that Geier's chelation efforts have resulted in his loss of license to practice medicine of any sort in several states for this practice.[17][18] His commitment to chelation though originally came from Andrew Cutler,[19] a health care consultant in the Seattle area with nothing more than a PhD in chemistry from Princeton and a BS in physics from the University of California. He is a patent agent and a registered professional chemical engineer.[20] He has no qualifications whatsoever in medicine.

Best also subscribes to the idea that the "truth about autism" (his words) is being hidden. He claims that there is a record of a meeting in Simpsonwood in 1999 where pharmaceutical companies agreed to continue to poison children with vaccines. He claims that at this meeting they admitted knowing about the link between thimerosal and autism but agreed to continue to use it. He also claims that all politicians around the world know this and are paid to stay quiet about it. Dr David Gorski, under the pen name of "Orac", blew this theory out of the water a long time ago.[21] Best has called for the arrest of politicians by the FBI in the past.[22]

General conspiracist

To further demonstrate Best's inability to be reasonable, he believes in the existence of the Illuminati,[23] and the Rothschild family conspiracy theory. Even his natural allies Age of Autism and Jenny McCarthy think he is a bit weird, and so he accused them of supporting the continued poisoning of children by doing nothing.[24][25]

However, Best was subject to two defamation lawsuits as of December 2012, one from outside the United States[26][27][28][29][30]. On January 24 2013 the lawsuit from outside the United States was decided against Best.[31] He may also have finally gone too far over the weekend of December 15 and 16, 2012, in the wake of the Sandy Hook shootings. First he tried to use speculation that Adam Lanza had Asperger syndrome to blame the leader of the Autistic Self Advocacy Network, Ari Ne'eman, of effectively killing those children by denying him a cure.[32] Then he attacked President Obama for not listening to him through a video he posted on YouTube.[33] Finally he posted the same message on both of his blogs, calling everyone with Asperger syndrome potential "psycho killers", and using this as a reason to force them to be "cured" via chelation.[34][35]

In September 2013, it was reported that Best left a comment on Jake Crosby's anti-vaccine website (apparently mistaking it for e-mail) which cited The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, among other things.

In late December 2014, Best advised the following when confronted with the 24 January 2013 court decision[36];

Just so people know who read this link, it never happened. It seems that Phil Gluyas made the whole thing up. No court ever ruled on a lawsuit against me. Phil or his pals wrote this mythical decision. No court ever notified me of anything except that Phil had filed his childish lawsuit. It was so stupid that I didn't take it seriously. No judge could be dumb enough to even hear this case.

As the Austlii website clearly indicates, the case was indeed heard and decided upon in the Supreme Court of Victoria, Australia.

In May 2016, Best expressed the belief that he owns the United States.[37] In a video he claimed that the British Royal Family were and are a part of the Rothschild family, and that the American Internal Revenue Service (IRS) were also working for the Rothschilds.[38]

In February 2017, Best criticized the appointment of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court of the United States, claiming that he swore allegiance to the British Crown when being admitted to the Bar Association,[39] without a shred of proof. He furthered the claim by stating that the British Crown runs all the Bar Associations in the United States.[40] Then he referred to all Democrats and Republicans as domestic enemies on top of this. Best also believes that all matters before the courts for amounts of money exceeding $20 dollars are required by the Constitution to be considered by a jury only.[41]

Political aspirations

On several different occasions, John Best has indicated his interest in running for various political posts ranging from the President of the United States,[42] through the US Senate[43] and the position of Governor of his home state of New Hampshire[44]. On each occasion he has run his campaign entirely through the Internet, likely for fear of the 12th Protocol of the The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion ("We control the press. Not a single announcement will reach the public without our control.") and as a "write in" candidate instead of formally registering. Best has twice asked readers of his blog to vote for him as President as a write-in.[45][46][47][48] He has also tried the same stunt with the Senate at the 2010 mid-term elections.[49] The statistics for that election in which he was involved garnered a maximum of 439 votes[50] assuming that all the write in votes were for him. Best also started a petition in the form of a new Declaration of Independence[51]. On December 30 2014 this petition was deleted by the provider.

He believes that the mainstream media is corrupt and won't give him a voice[52] so he totally relies on the Internet to get his message out. One of his policies is Free Homes for All,[53] along with other ridiculous claims.[54]

He has persistently attacked politicians, including but not limited to Kelly Ayotte,[55][56] Michael Gill,[57] Maggie Hassan[58][59] and Frank Guinta.[60]

His belief in the existence of the Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion leads to the assumption that Best may be anti-Semitic as the Protocols only exist as an anti-Semitic rumour. Another believer in the protocols was Adolf Hitler, and at one point Best did express approval for Hitler's book Mein Kampf.[61]

As of the beginning of 2017 it would appear that he has given up on being elected to public office. He has criticised Robert F Kennedy wasting his time fighting Capitol Hill over mercury.[62]
