Dr. Tony Attwood (b. 1952 in Birmingham, England) is a psychologist who lives in Queensland, Australia, and author of several books on Asperger syndrome.

He received an honours degree in psychology from the University of Hull, an M.A. in clinical psychology from the University of Surrey, and a Ph.D. from the University of London. His most famous book, Asperger's Syndrome: A Guide for Parents and Professionals, provides information on diagnosis, problems of social relationships, sensory issues, motor control and other typical issues which face people with Asperger's and their support networks. The book has now been translated into seven languages.

He also has a clinical practice at his diagnostic and treatment clinic for children and adults with Asperger Syndrome, in Brisbane, founded in 1992.

In more recent times, Attwood has attracted some criticism for associating himself with the unproven writings of Maxine Aston and her "Cassandra Syndrome" - a made up condition designed to provide an excuse for a neurotypical woman unable to cope with a marriage to an autistic man while trying to be like him when she should not be. This made up condition is scaring women away from getting involved with autistic men and is harming the understanding of the autistic spectrum.
